Spray foam seals air and insulates in one coat. That makes it a strong fit for rooflines, metal buildings and attics where the ductwork lives.

Insulation contractor work in Las Cruces, NM
Price turns on the size of the space, what's already there, what has to come out and foam versus loose fill. Repairs and any permit set the schedule, and your written estimate lays out each step.
Is it hot upstairs even with the AC running? We check how many inches are already up there, seal the gaps and bring the whole attic up evenly, out to the edges.
Blown-in insulation is loose fill we blow through a hose. It's the usual way to top up an attic floor without tearing anything open.
If you're not sure where your house is losing its cooling, we look at the attic, walls and crawl space together and tell you which one to fix first.
Insulation that's been soaked or is full of droppings has to come out, because new material over it keeps the problem in place. We remove it and clean up the space before anything new goes in.
Cold floors usually mean the insulation under them is missing or has fallen down. We insulate under the floor or along the crawl space walls, depending on how yours is built and vented.
Older houses often have empty or settled wall cavities. We fill them through small holes that get patched, so your drywall stays where it is.
Air sealing is closing the gaps that let air leak through the house, so new insulation isn't fighting a draft. We seal leaks around pipes, wires, outlets and fixtures, whether or not you're adding insulation.
We insulate basement walls and the framing along the top of them, so a basement you're finishing stays closer in temperature to the rest of the house.
Closed-cell foam is a dense foam that also blocks moisture. We use it on metal buildings and in other spots where condensation is a worry.
Open-cell foam is softer and lighter than closed-cell. It suits rooflines and interior walls where you want an air seal and quieter rooms for less money.
Run a shop, an office or a metal building? We insulate and seal commercial spaces the same way we do houses, with a hard look before the quote.
We lay a heavy plastic sheet over the crawl space dirt and seal the seams, so ground moisture stays out of your floor framing and insulation.
We install vapor barriers where a wall, floor or ceiling needs one to keep moisture out of the insulation. I'll tell you plainly when a spot is better off without one.
The room over the garage and the upstairs bedrooms often run hot because attic air leaks down through gaps around wires, pipes, can lights and the hatch. We seal those from above before any insulation goes on top.
Retrofit insulation is adding insulation to a house that's already built. We plan it around what's in your attic, walls and crawl space today.
Why we do insulation in the right order
I learned this trade under an old-school boss who made me tear out and redo anything that wasn't right. I worked on his crews for years and started Prime Las Cruces Spray Foam Insulation in 2023. His rule still runs our jobs. Insulation over a roof leak, bad wiring or gaps nobody sealed is money thrown away, so we fix things in order.
Most of our calls come from homeowners with hot rooms, high cooling bills or an attic nobody has looked in for years. Some come from people who run shops, offices and metal buildings. Either way, I look hard at the space before I quote. If the job isn't ready yet, I'd rather tell you that than do it wrong. There's more about how we work if you want it.
We're based in Las Cruces and work across the cities around it, including Chaparral, NM, Anthony, NM and Canutillo, TX. Across all of them we get a lot of the same calls, mostly hot upstairs rooms and attics with thin, uneven coverage. You deal with me from the first visit to the last walk-through, so nothing gets lost between whoever quoted the job and whoever did it.
Las Cruces permits and New Mexico licensing
Las Cruces has its own permit steps, and New Mexico has its own rules for who can do the work. Here's what each one means for insulation at your house or building.
City building permits
The City of Las Cruces issues building permits for most building projects after it reviews the application. Applications go through the city's Citizen Portal, and the property needs a valid address assigned by the city. Whether your insulation job needs a permit is a question for the city, so we settle it before work starts.
State contractor license
New Mexico's Construction Industries Division says anyone doing construction-related contracting in the state has to be licensed. The division can stop an unlicensed contractor's job and file criminal charges. Each license applicant also has to furnish the division a $10,000 bond from a surety company. Ask to see a license before anyone works on your house. We're licensed and insured.
Shops, offices and duplexes
The city requires a pre-submittal meeting before the permit application for any commercial new construction, addition or alteration valued at $1 million or more. Duplexes and larger multi-family buildings need that meeting at any value. If your insulation is part of a bigger project like that, I'll bring it up early so you can plan for it.

Let us prep and insulate

Questions homeowners ask about insulation
How much does attic insulation cost in Las Cruces?
It depends on what I find up there, so we give you a figure after a free look at your attic. Thin coverage over a clean attic floor is the simpler job. Old material that's soaked or full of droppings has to come out first, and a roof leak or a wiring problem needs fixing before we insulate, so those add to the price.
Should I get spray foam or blown-in insulation for my attic?
For most attics, sealing the gaps and topping up with blown-in loose fill is the better value. Spray foam costs more but seals air while it insulates, so it usually earns its price when your ductwork runs through the attic or you're insulating a roofline or metal building. I'll tell you which fits once I've looked.
How long will the insulation crew be in my attic?
It depends on your attic, and I'll tell you once I've seen it. The size of the space, how much old material comes out, how many gaps need sealing and any repair that has to come first all change how long we're up there. If the job needs a permit, that can add time before we start.
Do we have to leave the house for spray foam insulation?
Yes, with spray foam you, the kids and the pets stay out until the re-entry time passes, which is when it's safe to come back inside. We go over that time with you before the job so you can plan where to be. Blown-in loose fill is different, and most people stay home while we work.
Can you put new insulation over old insulation in my attic?
Often yes, if the old insulation is dry and clean. When it's been soaked by a roof leak or is full of droppings, it has to come out first, because new material over it keeps the problem in your attic. I check that before I quote, and I'll tell you what I find.
How do I get my house ready for an insulation job?
Clear a path to the attic hatch or crawl space door and move whatever's stored right under it. If you've seen a roof leak, flickering lights or wiring you're unsure about, tell me at the estimate, because those get fixed before any insulation goes in.
